Saint Therese & Her Mom
“The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother!” ❤️
I remember the summer reading letters of St. Therese’s parents. (PLEASE READ!) Those life-changing words of saints raising saints.
How Zelie taught her daughters to wear sacrifice necklaces, encouraging “little offerings to Christ throughout the day.” How she prayed zealously for her family to become saints, cherished her husband, attended a monthly Catholic moms circle, respected the Sabbath, and pursued her own blue flame. The mother's love.
I remember my Grandma Rose. Forever role model who gifted us saint medals and took a bus to daily mass in her old age. I remember my love affair with the name, then falling in love with a man, taking his last name, DeROSE.
I remember holding my ROSary, finally understanding.
I didn’t know much about St. Therese until adulthood. My first experience reading Story of a Soul was as a mother myself. When her “little way” met me right in the midst of vocational doubts.
To believing St. Therese & her mother are 100% the best friends we need!!!! To watching their devotions & roses spread! Mom’s naming their babies Zelie & Therese everywhere!
Beautiful blogs like Shower of Roses & Zelie & Lou completely dedicated to them!
Thank you today to all who are spreading their truth & joy online & off! Let’s not doubt they’re uniquely calling us ALL!
“I understood that every flower created by Him is beautiful, that the brilliance of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not lessen the perfume of the violet or the sweet simplicity of the daisy.”
