All Saints Day Celebrations

THROWBACK to our FIRST All Saint’s Day celebration! You can do this mamas!

I remember the overwhelm of entering the Catholic liturgical living world. Our oldest in Kindergarten & I was new to the homeschool saints parades, picking a saint for the year, the devotions and traditions. Considering myself a non-crafty mom ;) my artistic husband kindly made our first Saint Nicholas & Saint Dominic costumes!

Over the past few years, I’ve used the Internet as a TOOL to learn from liturgical living queens like @kendra_tierney @catholicsprouts@showerofroses @rosiehill425 (sry for the re-tag mamas ;) I want people to learn from you!) to gain confidence.

More recently from @littlelightfamilysharing liturgical living Advent ideas, @thecatholicmama sharing how she used a simple box for her kids to pull out a new saint for the year, & @clareandcolettehome sharing a family litany of saints she just created!

All different examples, all different saints.

Mama’s, we can take the Instagram & Pinterest ideas & MAKE THEM OUR OWN! Choosing to embrace the JOY & celebration of others, not mom guilt of what we failed to do.

Every family is called to live out their faith in a unique & beautiful way, and the best news – YOU ARE THE BEST MOM FOR YOUR KIDS TO DO SO!

You can simply:

- Say “pray for us,” after your kid’s namesake saints after dinner grace

- Use your parish calendar or an app like @hallowapp to see the saint of the day

- Do a 5 minute “As the Saints Go Marching In” parade with your kids holding a paper of a saint name (or homemade costumes if you have them – tied bedsheets make great saintly vestments!)

- a shoebox & index cards to have your kids pick out their “saint of the year”

- use Instagram to find beautiful saint purchases

Let’s use this tool to grow closer to the Saints, and truly, “Be who we were meant to be to set the world on fire!”

In Joy,

Alex
