Fighting for 2020 Good

“There’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for!” Husband’s favorite quote on 2020 replay.

Last night we received more upsetting 2020 news. I keep asking, where’s the good in this crazy year? How are we flipping the glass?

Then I look at our precious baby! “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Favorite ways to flip the lens:

- Reflect how God has already worked in our lives
- Make a gratitude list
- Do a day, week, year or decade in review

For my first Friday Introduction, a therapeutic decade in review ;)

2010- Graduated nursing school. First job as an ICU nurse. Met Nick @catholicmatch. Got engaged!

2011-Got married! Moved into our 1st apartment. Honeymooned in Jamaica.

2012- Started graduate school! Worked part time in ICU. Traveled to Italy with Nick. Pro-life undercover work.

2013- Became parents having our first son Nicholas Michael!

2014-Graduated with masters from Penn State! First NP job in Family Practice. Started a rosary devotion.

2015- Quit working. Traveled to Punta Cana with Nick. Built and moved into our dream home! Had our 2nd son Dominic Vincent!

2016- Started Fertility Care internship at Pope Paul IV institute. Traveled to Cancun Mexico with Nick.

2017- Graduated Fertility Care internship. Started a local @blessedisshe__ group. Homeschooled pre-school. Started spiritual direction.

2018- Babymooned in DC. Turned 30. Taught NFP & NaproTechnology at my local parish. Homeschooled kindergarten. Had 3rd son Anthony Thomas!

2019- New NP job in hospice & long-term care. Renewed NP certification. Homeschooled 1st grade & below.

2020- Got pregnant during the pandemic and quit working. Joined Instagram & started writing & speaking gigs. Homeschooled 2nd grade & below. Had our 4th son Andrew Paul!

Decade changes and failed expectations – many.
Constants – Faith. Jesus. Mercy. Family.
