Spiritual Direction
“What should I do?” “What if you removed SHOULD from your vocabulary and asked – WHAT WILL HAVE ME LOVE MORE?”
“What if you made EVERYTHING you do as an ACT OF LOVE for ANOTHER? What if you sent Jesus darts of love, from your heart to His, all throughout your day?”
☝️Just a FEW insights from my spiritual direction session yesterday! 🙌🏻
Spiritual direction. Like a personal trainer for your soul. Challenging you to grow in virtue, discern God’s will in your life, and help identify the demons of distracting you from it!
Imagine a world where all of our top self-care priority was our souls, and we had personal guidance helping us navigate.
Imagine dedicating an hour a month for a transformational Christian life.
I remember hearing other’s experiences, “my spiritual director helped me bring peace or clarity,” – um, I want that! I finally start the life changing journey a few years ago, having priests, deacons, lay women.
One gave a book on personality types in prayer. “Knowledge of self, leads to knowledge of God.” Leading to my years of study in personality types, temperaments love languages. Helping understand how to, “be who we were meant to be.”
One connected seeing God in the everyday, “not just in the chapel, in your every moment.” “Where did you find God today?” Pour your heart out to Him, tell him everything.
One taught, “it’s all about LOVE. Your personal relationship and divine intimacy with Christ.”
How much do YOU want that? Of all our mama needs today, I can’t think of anything more important. It’s the ultimate self-care.
I remember reading Discovering God Together & listening to @catholicsprouts discussing how we’re called to be our children’s spiritual directors!
Imagine a world where we were confident in that role for our kids.
Considering the greatest saints had spiritual directors, we’d be smart to emulate.
It’s possible! We just have to start small. Seek out, ask friends, look for resources. Don’t be afraid, don’t give up. @catholicspiritualdirection @catholicsprouts @katiewarnercatholic
