4 Boys in 8 Years - Motherhood Reflections!

Kissing my FOUR BOYS, 4 seasons, 8 years, MOM LIFE CONFESSIONS! šŸ˜canā€™t believe Nick made this!

The other day, a new nurse vented, ā€œHow will I get to all their medications in time? Iā€™m afraid Iā€™ll miss something, I donā€™t feel prepared. Itā€™s so overwhelming, Iā€™m exhausted.ā€

I smiled and reassured. I remembered. The stomach pit on the way to work, the tears and fast food stops on the way home.

ā€œIt just takes time. The first few years are hard. Things get easier. Youā€™re a beginner now, but soon youā€™ll be mentoring others!ā€

Enter my fourth post-partum. New moms asking the same questions, with the same fears, needing the same advice!

Yes, motherhoodā€™s more than a job. Our unpaid work canā€™t be cashed to a bank account. Our work as mothers far surpasses that. The vocation storing up eternal savings for souls.

And yes, we all learn as we go.

Through each season of motherhood, I rememberā€¦
The first mom, spending hours filling the baby books of his every move. Crying hysterically when he wasnā€™t walking by 12 months and being completely embarrassed at 18 months when he wasnā€™t playing with other kids!

The second mom, feeling guilty the toddler watched TV and ate cereal for dinner. Bawling if either woke up early from naps. Nick, save me!

The third mom, juggling three and returning to work. Milk supply and babyā€™s weight dropping. Desperately pumping between patients!

The fourth mom, the newborn smiles, we got this! Wait, a 2020 baby, with three belowā€¦never mind, weā€™re beginners again!

Remembering is key. Itā€™s how we confess our mistakes, share our crosses and see Godā€™s faithfulness.

My own mom taught this BEST as she cheered me on with what we all need to hear:

-Youā€™re doing a great job!
-Your baby is beautiful!
-Itā€™s ok to be a beginner, we all are!
-Youā€™re the perfect mother for your child!

Whatever stage youā€™re in, blast @lauren_daigles ā€œRemember!ā€

Remember that kissing our babies is one of the best things we can do for them!

THATs how the JOY of motherhood spreadsšŸ„°

What would you tell a new mama??? šŸ‘‡šŸ˜…
